What is yashica?

Yashica was a Japanese manufacturer of cameras, camera accessories, and other photographic equipment. The company was founded in 1949 and became well-known for its range of 35mm rangefinder and SLR cameras. Yashica also produced medium format cameras, film scanners, and various other photographic accessories.

Yashica gained popularity in the 1960s and 1970s with its Electro 35 series of rangefinder cameras, which were known for their compact size, sharp lenses, and reliable performance. The company also produced a range of SLR cameras, such as the TL series and the FX series, which were popular among amateur and professional photographers.

In the 1980s, Yashica faced financial difficulties and was eventually acquired by Kyocera Corporation in 1983. Kyocera continued to produce cameras under the Yashica name for several years before discontinuing the brand in the early 2000s.

Despite no longer being in production, Yashica cameras and accessories remain popular among photography enthusiasts and collectors for their quality and vintage appeal.
