What is maturidilik?

Maturidilik is a school of Islamic theology named after its founder Abu Mansur al-Maturidi. It is considered one of the two mainstream Sunni theological schools, the other one being Ash'arism. Maturidilik emphasizes rationality and human free will, but also acknowledges the role of divine revelation and the importance of following religious law.

The main tenets of Maturidilik include belief in the unity and oneness of God, His infinite power and wisdom, and His attributes being distinct from His essence. Maturidis believe that humans have free will and are responsible for their actions, but also accept predestination as a divine decree and believe in the existence of angels, prophets, and the Day of Judgment.

Maturidilik is widely followed by Muslims in Central Asia, Turkey, and parts of South Asia. It has also had a significant influence on Islamic scholarship and philosophy throughout history.
