What is glads?

Glads, also known as gladiolus, are a genus of plants in the iris family. They are native to South Africa but have been cultivated and grown all over the world. Glads are popular in gardens and as cut flowers because of their tall spikes of showy, funnel-shaped flowers in a variety of colors including pink, red, yellow, orange, white, and purple. These flowers bloom in the late summer and fall, making them a great addition to the garden or for use in floral arrangements during this time. Glads prefer full sun and well-draining soil, and they require regular watering during their growing season. They can be propagated by corms (similar to bulbs) and planted in the spring or fall. Glads are also known for their symbolism in the language of flowers, representing strength, honor, and moral integrity.
