What is deflector?

A deflector is a device that is used to redirect the flow of fluid (e.g. air, water) or particles (e.g. light, sound) away from a certain area or object. The main purpose of a deflector is to protect or enhance the performance of the object or surface it is being used with.

Deflectors can come in various forms, such as aerodynamic deflectors on cars that reduce drag and improve fuel efficiency, sound deflectors on walls to reduce noise pollution, and particle deflectors in accelerators to control the path of particles. They can also be stationary or adjustable depending on their application.

In addition to their practical uses, deflectors can also be used for decorative purposes. For example, an art installation might use a reflective deflector to create interesting patterns of light in a space.
