What is cpr?

CPR stands for Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation. It is a technique used to revive an unconscious person whose breathing or heartbeat has stopped. CPR involves a combination of chest compressions and rescue breaths. Chest compressions involve pressing down on the chest about 2 inches and then releasing the pressure to repeat the process. Rescue breaths involve blowing air into the victim's nose and mouth to help oxygenate their blood. CPR is used on people who are in cardiac arrest or drowning, and is taught to medical professionals, as well as to the general public, as it can greatly increase the chances of survival until medical help arrives. CPR can be performed on adults, children, and infants.
