What is bronş?

Bronchi are the large air passages that branch off from the trachea (windpipe) and lead to the lungs. The right main bronchus is larger and more vertical than the left, allowing for easier passage of air. The bronchi are lined with cilia (tiny hair-like cells) that help move mucus and other debris out of the lungs. Bronchial tubes can become inflamed and narrow in response to various irritants or infections, leading to conditions like bronchitis, asthma, or bronchiectasis. Treatment can include medication to reduce inflammation and open the airways, as well as techniques to help remove excess mucus from the lungs.
