What is y.1731?

Y.1731 is an ITU-T standard for Ethernet-based performance monitoring. It defines procedures and parameters for measuring and reporting performance metrics in Ethernet networks, including delay, frame loss, and jitter. It allows for standardized monitoring and troubleshooting of network performance, and can be used to verify service level agreements (SLAs) between network providers and customers. Y.1731 is widely used in carrier-grade Ethernet networks for service assurance and fault management.
