What is prefill?

Prefill is a term commonly used in data entry and online forms, where data is pre-populated (or prefilled) in certain fields for the user's convenience. This is typically done by retrieving information that has been previously entered by the user or stored in a database.

Prefilling is especially helpful for forms that require the same information from the user multiple times, such as name, address, or contact information. With prefilling, the user can simply verify the information already entered, rather than having to re-enter it manually each time.

Prefill can also be used to speed up registration processes for new users, or to provide suggested options in dropdown menus based on the user's previous selections.

However, it's important to note that prefill data must be accurate and up-to-date to avoid errors and confusion. Users should always be able to edit or delete prefilled information if needed.
